A billing manager was injured as a result of falling to the floor after his chair rolled out from underneath him. He injured his neck and back and came under medical care. The injured worker was instructed to remain out of work due to his injuries. Although the employer paid the injured worker wage loss and medical benefits, it failed to file any documents with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to recognize the injury. Frank Ciprero filed a number of Petitions on the injured worker’s behalf, including petitions to increase his compensation rate, to expand the description of the work injury and to assess penalties against the employer for its failure to file documents with the Bureau. The case settled for $220,000.00
