With the government shutdown now underway, we at Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano want to assure our Social Security Disability clients that our work for you will continue unaffected.
The Social Security Administration has released a statement on their website stating that during a federal government shutdown, Social Security field offices will remain open with limited services. Importantly, Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments to beneficiaries will continue with no change in payment dates. For our clients receiving disability benefits, those benefits will not be disturbed.
If you are a client who has a disability hearing scheduled, that hearing will be held even if the shutdown continues. New applications for disability benefits will be accepted and our office will continue to aggressively file claims on behalf of our disabled clients. While there may be a delay in the processing of your claim by the Social Security Administration, it will not have an impact on the way Pond Lehocky handles your case.
For more information, we direct our clients to visit the Social Security Administration website at www.ssa.gov, or visit our website for updates.
