The Director of Search Engine Marketing will play a critical role in promoting the firm’s brand, and more importantly, ensuring those in need get the best representation available to them. As you expand our reach with the clients we serve, you will also have the opportunity to shape and grow a digital marketing team to expand the firm’s successful search engine and social marketing campaigns. On day one, you will serve as a thought leader and individual contributor while also collaborating with an award winning marketing team on the creation of content for your campaigns.

The successful candidate will be analytical, data-driven, and results focused. With an appreciation for tried-and-true practices, the Director will also be fearless in pursuing new, bold strategic ideas with proven experience in turning past failures into future successes. Not only will the successful candidate be open to new ideas, the SEM Director will also freely share their knowledge and mentor others.

Responsibilities

  • Develop search engine marketing (SEM) and pay-per-click (PPC) strategies to increase brand visibility and customer acquisition across internet search engines, Google and Bing, as well as social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Monitors PPC account activity daily (budget caps, impression share, quality score) to provide insight on creative copy improvements and optimize click-through and conversion rates.
  • Identifies, tracks, and reports out on KPIs like cost per acquisition (CPA) or cost per case and return on ad spend (ROAS).
  • Responsible for project managing each campaign through ideation, analysis, creative development, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Ensure the team is properly staffed and has the resources necessary to deliver campaigns on-time that meet the prescribed goals.
  • Evaluate consumer behavior to forecast market opportunities, trends, and investment.
  • Analyzes new and potential products, services, markets, and advertising opportunities.
  • Conducts keyword research and selection for pay-per-click campaigns and makes suggestions for keyword driven content on search engine optimization (SEO) projects.

Background & Experience

  • 5 years experience managing a seven figure annual budget.
  • Previous experience building and managing a team of 3 direct reports.
  • Experience working in marketing for a B2C professional services company (ideal industry experience being legal, mortgage, or education).
  • Strong analytical mindset and demonstrable expertise using Google Analytics (Google Analytics certification preferred).
  • Comfortable navigating between the big-picture view to being in the weeds with a high-attention to detail.
  • Experience coaching and managing graphic designers, web developers, content writers, and videographers (a proficiency in any of these technical areas is a plus).
  • Understanding of bidding strategies & diminishing return analysis.
  • Experience designing and conducting A/B testing.
  • Ability to think outside the box; proven experience implementing creative strategies that successfully drive profitable lead generation in a crowded, noisy market space.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and prioritizing initiatives to successfully meet goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and strong presentation skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Pardot is a plus.
