Pond Lehocky partner David F. Stern has been recognized for his standout pro bono service with a nomination to the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania’s 2013 Pro Bono Roll of Honor. This award recognizes attorneys who have donated their legal services to litigants in the Philadelphia Common Pleas and Municipal Courts. The acknowledgment marks the fifth time that Mr. Stern has been named to the Pro Bono Roll of Honor.
Mr. Stern actively donates his services to the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (Philly VIP), an organization dedicated to promoting equal justice for the poor. Founded in 1981, Philly VIP provides legal services for low-income residents and families facing civil legal problems that threaten their basic human needs, like shelter, employment, financial stability, education, and health. By donating their time, Mr. Stern and other volunteers help Philly VIP provide thousands of impoverished Philadelphians with access to legal services that they would otherwise be unable to obtain.
