Pond Lehocky is once again spreading holiday cheer over the weeks leading up to Christmas by contributing to local and national charities selected by the firm’s clients, partners, attorneys and staff.

This is Pond Lehocky’s third straight year presenting 25 Days of Giving. Since Dec. 1, the firm has been:

  • Volunteering in the local community
  • Holding special holiday events for the sick and underprivileged
  • Creating cards and care packages
  • Donating to charities

During the first week, here’s how the firm is helping out some worthy causes:

Day 1: The firm supported Lisa’s Army, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort to courageous individuals currently undergoing cancer treatments. The firm set up drop boxes in its offices to collect comfort care package items for cancer patients.

Day 2: A group of staffers served dinner to residents at Project HOME: Women of Change, a safe haven residence for women in Philadelphia run by Project HOME, which aims to help adults, children and families break the cycle of homelessness.

Day 3: The firm sponsored Disability Pride Philadelphia’s Third Annual Independence Day of People w/Disabilities Show to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which was established by the United Nations to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development.

Day 4: A group of Pond Lehocky staffers volunteered at the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Philadelphia shelter. The Pennsylvania SPCA is a 100-percent donor-funded animal rescue center with multiple locations throughout the state.

Day 5: The firm is supporting Beverly’s Birthdays, an organization that provides birthday cheer to homeless children and families in need. Staff at Pond Lehocky’s Pittsburgh office will assemble 50 birthday kits consisting of pajamas, socks and underwear.

Day 6: Volunteers from the firm will participate in the Philadelphia Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania, which provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults in Pennsylvania with intellectual disabilities. The Philly Plunge will be held at Drexel University’s Recreation Center and raises funds that fuel year-round sports programs for more than 2,000 Special Olympics athletes throughout the City of Brotherly Love.

Day 7: Pond Lehocky will support ChildPromise, an organization which supports housing and educational services for foster children. The firm is donating a Share the Care Package to a foster child enrolled at a local university.

Over the next seven days, the firm will be supporting the Special Olympics of New Jersey, the Alzheimer’s Association, WePAC, Families Forward Philadelphia, Rock Ministries of Philadelphia, Cards for Hospitalized Kids, Operation Gratitude and the Lupus Foundation of America.

A new gift is being revealed each day. Follow along on Pond Lehocky’s website and social media accounts to see what the firm is doing and learn about important charities in need this holiday season and beyond.
