Allison Volk Placed as Board Observer with Legal Clinic for the Disabled

November 21, 2013

Pond Lehocky Workers’ Compensation Associate Allison Volk has been placed as a board observer with the Legal Clinic for the Disabled (LCD) for the upcoming year. As part of her duties, yesterday, November 20th, Allison attended the Board Observer Program’s year-end event, hosted by the Philadelphia Bar Association, to meet the Association’s Board of Governors and to hear about the experiences of the 2013 Board Observers.

Started in 2012, the Board Observer Program is a collaborative program of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and the Delivery of Legal Services Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association that provides young attorneys with the opportunity to learn about nonprofit board membership through observation of a nonprofit organization and its board activities. As a board observer with the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, Allison will become familiar with the vital functions of the clinic while serving the community through the facilitation of LCD’s services.

The Legal Clinic for the Disabled provides free, high-quality legal services to low-income people with physical disabilities and to the deaf and hard of hearing in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. The clinic aims to help these people overcome their legal problems and continue living safely and independently in the community. Since 1990, the nonprofit has helped thousands of Pennsylvanians with disabilities.
