Pond Lehocky partners with Lehigh Valley IronPigs to recognize outstanding individuals with the Community Star Award program

Each month throughout the 2016 baseball season, Pond Lehocky and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs are recognizing individuals making a positive difference in the community with the Community Star Award. The award, sponsored by the firm, is presented prior to the start of one home game a month; five community members in total will be recognized throughout the 2016 season.

Our first two Community Star Award recipients were Dan Roman and Chuck Frantz. Dan serves on the board of directors for The Center for Animal Health and Welfare and has volunteered as a shelter manager for the past two years. Dan also assists other shelters, churches and homeless agencies with donation deliveries and is readily on-call to help local police for animal control issues that arise. His colleagues describe him as a generous and remarkable animal activist who has the best interests of all inhabitants of the community in mind.

Chuck serves as board member and coach of the Miracle League of Northampton County, a non-profit baseball facility for children and adults with disabilities. Chuck is described by his peers as the epitome of dedication, service and commitment to his community. “Coach Chuck” has impacted the lives of countless special needs youth in the Lehigh Valley through his work as a volunteer with the Miracle League of Northampton County and the Miracle League of Lehigh Valley. Chuck also serves as vice president for the Northampton School District Board, and as president and founder of the Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club, which has raised thousands of dollars in support of multiple local charities.

The next Community Star Award will be announced at the beginning of June 16th’s home game against the Gwinnett Braves. For information about the Community Star Award program or to submit a nomination, please visit here.
