The most recent edition of Pennsylvania Law Weekly contains an article co-authored by Managing Partner Sam Pond and Workers’ Compensation Associate Andrew Ruder. The article, entitled “Workers' Compensation: The Accuracy of the Average Weekly Wage”, focuses on the methods and importance of the average weekly wage taking into account an employee’s actual earnings preceding a work injury. It also stresses that as workers’ compensation benefits are the sole remedy for injured workers, there must be a greater effort on calculating benefits to ensure that workers are able to survive financially while out of work.
