Pond Lehocky Partner Tom Giordano, Jr. talks family connection and career passion on ALS podcast

Partner Tom Giordano, Jr. was a featured guest on the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia’s podcast. Tom spoke about his family connection to ALS and how it drove his interest to become a Social Security disability attorney. Tom also discussed the firm’s sponsorship of the ALS Greater Philadelphia Chapter’s Phillies Festival on Thursday, June 9th.

Tom’s uncle passed away from ALS after a few short years of fighting the disease. He recounts the heartbreaking affect this progressive illness can have on a person and their family.

“My uncle was so full of life and then to see what ALS did to him was tough,” he said. “It came on quickly. He has less movement in his hands and then became completely paralyzed. ALS took away who he was.”

As a Social Security disability attorney, Tom’s number one goal is to ensure that those with ALS understand that there are financial benefits available to them and their families. Social Security even has an expedited application for those with ALS that Pond Lehocky can help people process.

“I always say to people, ‘Let us do this for you. You have enough to worry about.’” Tom said. “[Battling a disability] is emotionally stressful. It doesn’t need to be financially stressful.”
