Pond Lehocky Partners with Families Forward Philadelphia to Brighten the Holidays for Needy Families

December 13, 2013

Pond Lehocky has partnered with Families Forward Philadelphia this holiday season to benefit the organization’s mission of helping homeless families and travelers in Philadelphia. On December 12th, volunteers from Pond Lehocky helped decorate the common areas of the shelter for the holiday season and donated gifts and holiday treats to the shelter’s needy families.

The decorating took place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Families Forward Philadelphia, located at 111 N. 49th Street, 19139. During this time, Pond Lehocky volunteers provided holiday treats, decorated trees throughout the common areas, and put up lights and other holiday décor.

Families Forward Philadelphia operates the city’s largest privately-run shelter for homeless families as well as 75 transitional and permanent family residential units in West Philadelphia. Working closely with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Supportive Housing to provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, intensive case management, and academic enrichment services, Families Forward aims to break the generational cycle of homelessness by enriching the lives of children and supporting their parents’ efforts at self-sufficiency. The organization currently houses 74 adults and 131 children
