$145,000 Settlement

April 25, 2013

A laborer was carrying a 16 foot plank up a hill when he stepped into a hole filled with mud, causing him to roll over to the left. He felt his left leg pull and reported the injury to his employer. He went to the emergency room the next day and was diagnosed with a left quadricep rupture and was given crutches and an immobilizer for his hip and ankle. The employer recognized the work injury and began paying the injured worker workers’ compensation benefits. As a result of the injury to his left leg, the injured worker began experiencing problems with his lower and upper back. Sam Pond filed a petition to expand the description of the work injury to include these additional injuries. Mr. Pond ultimately settled the case for $145,000.00.
