Pond Lehocky welcomes attorney Susan Nanes to the firm. Ms. Nanes joins us after seven years as Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald D. Castille’s law clerk. At the Court, Ms. Nanes served as primary drafting clerk on more than 50 majority, concurring and dissenting opinions, and over 100 allocatur reports.
As an attorney on our brief writing team, Ms. Nanes will review and communicate the latest court rulings on workers’ compensation to our firm. Her long-term experience in the Supreme Court will ensure that the firm receives steady updates on new developments in case law. This knowledge will help us continue to arm our attorneys with the most up-to-date information about workers’ compensation, further solidifying our position as THE workers’ compensation firm.
“Having someone at Pond Lehocky who has done a lot of research and writing on the law in general, and who knows the broad impact of workers’ compensation rulings from the high courts will help our attorneys continue to build strong cases for our clients,” she said. “Every case is important, and at the appellate level, a case can also be one that moves the law forward.”
Prior to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Ms. Nanes worked as the deputy chief law clerk to Judge Robert C. Daniels in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. She also worked as a law clerk to Judge Jefferson D. Hughes, III in the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit.
Ms. Nanes has an extensive educational background, with a bachelor’s from Barnard College of Columbia University, graduate studies in history at Columbia University and Tulane University, and a J.D. from Louisiana State University.
