Notice For: Anyone who has been exposed to asbestos and was subsequently diagnosed with mesothelioma.

Pond Lehocky Giordano is investigating claims on behalf of individuals who were exposed to asbestos—during employment or otherwise—and later diagnosed with mesothelioma.

Courts have found clear legal liability on the part of companies that manufactured asbestos, and mesothelioma victims who choose to act against these companies often qualify for compensation, especially when they can identify exactly where they were exposed to asbestos. For more information, please fill out the contact form.

What is mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer that is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos, a carcinogenic mineral that was regularly used in building materials and consumer products until the 1970s and 80s. Pleural mesothelioma, the most common form of the disease, attacks the linings of the chest wall and lungs. Pleural mesothelioma can follow asbestosis, which is the scarring of lung tissue caused by inhalation of asbestos fibers, but mesothelioma often occurs alone.

Mesothelioma symptoms

Symptoms of mesothelioma often don’t appear for decades after asbestos exposure. However, mesothelioma eventually manifests as breathing problems, including shortness of breath and coughing, and/or digestive problems.

Filing a mesothelioma lawsuit

Working with a mesothelioma cancer attorney, patients and their families can file an asbestos or mesothelioma lawsuit to:

  • Right an injustice they suffered
  • Recover lost wages
  • Obtain financial security
  • Pay for medical treatment
  • Receive compensation for pain and suffering

Our mesothelioma lawyers can help patients determine the best claim to file for their specific case and will help them properly fill out the necessary forms and compile the required documentation to prove their mesothelioma claim.

If a mesothelioma patient has passed, our attorneys can help their loved ones file a wrongful death lawsuit as well.

Mesothelioma lawsuit settlements

Mesothelioma settlement amounts typically range from six to seven figures. Numerous factors contribute to a settlement amount, including:

  • How long the patient has suffered from mesothelioma
  • The patient’s age, prior health conditions, and lifestyle
  • The number and/or type of asbestos products the patient was exposed to
  • Whether the patient has lost wages and/or will lose wages in the future due to their condition

Another important factor is the skill and experience of the patient’s mesothelioma cancer lawyer. Our clients are our top priority, and our team does everything we can to make the legal process comfortable and easy for our clients while we fight on their behalf to secure the compensation they deserve.
