Earlier this year, Pond Lehocky employees participated in a volunteer day at the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals headquarters in Philadelphia.
Pond Lehocky employees brought donations, and assisted staff with a variety of tasks. They toured the facility, played with the shelter’s dogs, and helped pack welcome boxes designed to ease the transition for adopters. They also helped make peanut butter dog treats out of supplies that had been donated.
This is the second consecutive year that Pond Lehocky employees have volunteered with the organization. The PSPCA is one of the charities that Pond Lehocky supports through our 25 Days of Giving program, which provides $1,000 donations to 25 deserving organizations in the month of December.
Pond Lehocky employees loved working with the shelter dogs and helping shelter staff with their daily tasks. “I love animals, so it’s always nice being in that environment and knowing that what you’re doing is making an impact,” says Rachel Dixon, Human Resources Manager.
Community engagement is essential to Pond Lehocky’s DNA. In fact, it’s one of our four core values. By supporting our community locally, nationally, and globally, we’re investing in the health and well-being of the places where we live and work. We’re proud to support the PSPCA, and a host of other organizations doing great work in their communities.
We look forward to organizing more volunteer days throughout the year for employees.
About the PSPCA: Founded in 1867, the Pennsylvania Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is PA’s oldest animal welfare organization. They focus on removing pets from cruel and dangerous situations, providing them with medical and behavioral therapy, and finding them loving, responsible homes.
