Kalim Khan | Of Counsel – Canada
Kalim Khan, senior partner at Affinity Law, is a highly accomplished attorney with a distinguished educational background and a wealth of professional experience. After earning his undergraduate degree from Trinity College at the University of Toronto, he pursued a joint Canadian and American LL.B./J.D. program at Windsor Law and the Detroit Mercy Law, graduating in 1999. In 2000, Kalim was called to the bar by the Law Society of Upper Canada. His academic achievements include a Certificate in Mediation from Stitt Feld Handy, a leading organization in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and completion of an International Law Program at King’s College London. This program provided him with a deep understanding of International Commercial Transactions, Maritime Law, and Islamic Legal Theory.
Kalim began his legal career as in-house counsel for a software company in Toronto, followed by a role as a Mediator for the Government of Ontario. He later partnered with Mr. Chehab to form Chehab & Khan, the predecessor of Affinity Lawyers. The firm primarily focuses on corporate/commercial matters and insurance litigation. Kalim has been instrumental in establishing Islamic finance in Toronto, facilitating over $100 million in transactions with various lenders.
