Spotlight on Scholarship Winner Awurabena Ofoso-Amponsah

At Pond Lehocky Giordano, we’re thrilled to highlight another remarkable recipient of our 25 Days of Scholarships initiative. Today, we recognize Awurabena Ofoso-Amponsah, a driven and compassionate student from West Windsor, New Jersey, who will begin her studies at Seton Hall University this fall as part of the Class of 2029.
Awurabena’s journey to a career in healthcare is already well underway. As a high school senior, she has taken on leadership roles in both academic and community settings. She currently serves as president of the Artists for a Cause club, competes in track and field, and works as a section editor for her school’s yearbook. Beyond the classroom, Awurabena volunteers at Capitol Health Regional Medical Center and Hospital and holds the position of class prefect at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Junior Youth. She also shares her passion for medicine through a blog that features articles on the latest healthcare breakthroughs, showcasing her initiative to educate and empower others.
Her commitment to service, leadership, and advocacy reflects the mission behind our scholarship program. Whether she’s helping care for her younger siblings or working toward raising awareness about issues in healthcare, Awurabena is focused on creating meaningful change. She envisions a career where she collaborates with both patients and medical professionals to strengthen the healthcare field and ensure that individuals are actively involved in their own care. Her long-term goal is to become a doctor, and she sees this scholarship as a critical stepping stone toward that future.
“This scholarship is not only a financial blessing, but also a source of encouragement and motivation as I strive to become a skilled nurse who can make a meaningful difference in the world,” Awurabena shared. “This support I have received reinforces my commitment to this path, allowing me to grow in my studies.”
Awurabena’s story exemplifies what the 25 Days of Scholarships is all about: celebrating students who are not only pursuing their education, but who are also building stronger communities through their values and actions.
About the 25 Days of Scholarships
Pond Lehocky Giordano’s 25 Days of Scholarships is a national initiative designed to help students across the country pursue their educational goals. Each recipient is awarded $1,000 to support their academic journey, whether they are enrolled in a two-year college, four-year university, trade school, or other accredited program.
Launched in 2025, this campaign is rooted in the belief that education is a powerful tool for transformation. Over the course of 25 days in June, we are highlighting students who demonstrate leadership, resilience, and a commitment to helping others.
Scholarship winners are selected based on their video submissions, where they explain how they plan to use their education to make a difference. The stories we receive are powerful reminders of the potential that lies in every student and the importance of supporting their dreams.
