At Pond Lehocky Giordano, we are proud to highlight the students selected for our inaugural 25 Days of Scholarships campaign – an initiative created to recognize and support individuals whose hard work, determination, and service to others embody the values we champion as a firm.
Today’s spotlight shines on John Brendel, a dedicated student from San Antonio, Texas, currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Homeland Security and Counterterrorism at Southern New Hampshire University, Class of 2028.
John’s story is one of lifelong commitment to safety, service, and community. He currently works as a campus safety specialist for a local school district, helping protect students and staff each day. Outside of work, his dedication continues. John has volunteered with his local church, served in the Air Force auxiliary performing search and rescue missions, and taught self-defense classes to help others feel confident and secure.
For John, education is not just a personal goal – it’s a tool that enhances his ability to protect and serve the people around him. He views his degree as a means of expanding his expertise and strengthening his role as a defender of his community. In his own words, “As a working adult, it is very difficult to make ends meet, much less take the step to go back to school. This award will serve to provide a bit of assistance to reach my goals. I am very touched and grateful for the scholarship. Please accept my most profound thanks.”
John exemplifies the spirit of the 25 Days of Scholarships program. His values – dedication, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to service – mirror the guiding principles behind this campaign. He is not just working toward a degree; he’s building a stronger, safer future for those around him.
About the 25 Days of Scholarships
Launched in 2025, the 25 Days of Scholarships is a nationwide program awarding 25 students with $1,000 each to help ease the financial burden of higher education. The scholarship is open to students attending two-year or four-year colleges, trade schools, and other accredited educational programs.
Throughout the month of June, Pond Lehocky Giordano will spotlight one scholarship recipient each day across our website and social media platforms. These individuals represent a wide range of backgrounds, fields of study, and goals, but they all share a common drive to create positive change in their communities.
