At Pond Lehocky Giordano, we are thrilled to introduce one of the remarkable recipients of our 25 Days of Scholarships campaign: Tellisha Frankhouser, a nursing student at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Class of 2026. Originally from Ketchikan, a remote island community in southeast Alaska, Tellisha is part of the Tlingit people – an Indigenous group native to the Pacific Northwest Coast. Her story is one of purpose, perseverance, and deep-rooted community commitment.
Tellisha is pursuing a dual degree in nursing and business administration with a clear vision: to return home and serve her community through healthcare. She plans to work at one of the Ketchikan Indian Community (KIC) clinics, providing essential care to underserved patients, particularly elders. Her long-term goal is to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), expanding her impact and leadership in rural healthcare.
Her passion for nursing is not just professional – it’s generational. Tellisha comes from a proud line of nurses, including her mother and great-grandparents. Carrying on that legacy, she has embraced both the responsibility and the opportunity to give back. As someone who relies on scholarships to fund her education, this $1,000 award will help her stay focused on her academic and career goals.
In her application video, Tellisha spoke candidly about her dreams and what this support means to her. “Winning this scholarship means more than financial support – it is a reminder that my hard work, goals, and dreams are seen and valued,” she shared. Her thoughtful reflection captures the spirit of the 25 Days of Scholarships program: to uplift and recognize students who are striving to make a difference in their communities.

About the 25 Days of Scholarships
Launched in 2025, the 25 Days of Scholarships is a national initiative created by Pond Lehocky Giordano to support students in higher education through financial assistance. Each day in June, one recipient is awarded a $1,000 scholarship and recognized for their academic dedication, community involvement, and future ambitions.
The scholarship is open to students attending two-year or four-year colleges, trade schools, or other accredited programs. It is designed to help alleviate financial barriers so students can focus on their education and personal growth. Applications require a short video that highlights the student’s goals and their connection to service and leadership.
Applicants are selected not just for their academic potential, but for the values they bring to their fields of study and their communities. Each recipient’s story is featured on our blog and social media to inspire others and celebrate the power of education.
