Sam Pond to appear on injured workers special of union radio show

Managing partner Samuel Pond will be appearing as a special guest on the Feb. 29 episode of Saturday Night Live with PhillyLabor on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT. Co-hosted by Joe Dougherty Jr. and Joe Krause, the radio show will be titled “An Injured Workers Special: An Hour with Sam Pond.”

Pond will be discussing, among other things, what workers need to do if they are injured on the job.

Saturday Night Live with Philly Labor is a weekly discussion presenting an insider’s look at the Philadelphia area labor movement and tackles labor related issues that affect working people every day, including workers’ rights, legislative issues and more.

Pond is no stranger to radio. He was the host of Legal Eagles w/ Sam Pond on 1210 WPHT, a weekly radio program featuring interviews with some of Philadelphia’s most esteemed legal professionals. It provided listeners with unique perspectives on the law, the courtroom and legal scenarios. Guests included former Governor Ed Rendell, legendary sports broadcaster Angelo Cataldi, legendary trial attorney John Morgan and former Philadelphia Eagle Freddie Mitchell.

Pond also has strong ties to unions. He was raised in a union family and worked at several union jobs before becoming an attorney. In addition to managing Pond Lehocky—the largest workers’ compensation firm in Pennsylvania—he is also president of Union Services Access, a legal consulting services network for unions and their members.

Pond Lehocky was also recently honored for its commitment to unions by pro-labor media platform and service provider PhillyLabor. The firm was named the Who’s Who in Injury and Injured Workers Advocacy Program Firm of the Year, recognizing the firm for its “exemplary representation of injured workers and disabled citizens” from across the Philadelphia area.
