Pond Lehocky Giordano’s managing partner Samuel H. Pond will be teaching for his fourth year as a Professor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. His class, “Workers’ Compensation,” focuses on the practical implications of workers’ compensation law from a practitioner’s point of view. Sam is a proud Temple Alumni, having graduated from Beasley in 1984 and being named to the Board of Visitors in 2019.

Pond is joined by senior associate, and newly appointed Adjunct Professor of Law, Melissa Chandy. The semester will bring in additional Pond Lehocky leadership as guest speakers, including Shawn Lehocky and Thomas J. Giordano.
Pond is a founding and managing partner of Pond Lehocky Giordano, one of the largest workers’ compensation and disability law firms in Pennsylvania. A former President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, he served for six years as treasurer of that organization’s Committee for a Better Tomorrow. He has previously served in leadership roles for numerous organizations, including chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and member of the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners.
Chandy is a Senior Associate with Pond Lehocky and has focused her practice exclusively on Pennsylvania workers’ compensation law since graduating from Penn State – Dickinson School of Law. Chandy was born and raised in Canada where she attended the University of Toronto and was accepted into a highly competitive Specialist Program in Commerce and Finance. She manages the brief writing department in the law firm. In this role, Chandy uses her knowledge to train and teach new associates the nuances of the brief writing processes, to ensure that from start to finish, Pond Lehocky cases are passionately and articulately argued. Chandy also plays an active role in Pond Lehocky’s Summer Associate and Clerkship Program. Chandy is a certified specialist in Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the PA Supreme Court. She was also elected to the Pennsylvania Association of Justice’s Board of Governors and is also an active member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and the American Bar Association. Additionally, Chandy has been chosen to the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list.
