Marissa Terwilliger is a South Jersey native, graduating from Shawnee High School in 2018. She earned her B.A. in International Relations, European History and Ancient Greek and Roman Studies after graduating early from the University of Delaware in May, 2021. Upon graduation, Terwilliger worked for a Philadelphia law firm as a Legal Assistant, specializing in personal injury matters.

Terwilliger went on to receive her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law in May, 2025. Throughout law school, she maintained her position as a Legal Assistant while also serving as a Staff Editor, Mentor and Managing Notes Editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Public Policy. She also served as the President of the Cannabis Legal Association and worked with the Last Prisoner Project to support those incarcerated for cannabis-related charges.

Terwilliger was also a part of the Rutgers Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic where she assisted clients with their medical and legal needs. For her pro bono work with Lawyers for Good Government – The Reproductive Health Legal Assistance Project, she was awarded the Pro Bono Publico Award for Significant Service upon graduation. She also competed for the advanced mock trial team at Rutgers, and she now volunteers as a judge for high school and undergraduate level mock trial competitions.

Outside of work, Terwilliger loves crafting. Her prized possession is her State Seal of Bi-literacy in the Latin Language. She met her fiancé, Justin, in law school, and the two live right outside Haddonfield, New Jersey.
