Spotlight on Scholarship Winner Finnigan Gage McNeil

At Pond Lehocky Giordano, we are excited to highlight another remarkable student as part of our 25 Days of Scholarships campaign. Today, we recognize Finnigan Gage McNeil, a driven and compassionate social work student at Temple University, Class of 2026.
Finnigan, a transmasculine individual from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, is entering their senior year at Temple. But their academic journey is far from over – they plan to pursue a master’s in social work immediately after graduation, with the ultimate goal of becoming a therapist. Their career path is guided by a clear mission: to support LGBTQ+ youth and help individuals navigate the stressors imposed by social stigma, discrimination, and the broader political landscape.
As someone who has personally experienced the emotional weight of being unseen or unheard, Finnigan is deeply committed to making mental health care more accessible and affirming for the LGBTQ+ community. They hope to use their education to help young people, especially transgender individuals, develop healthy coping mechanisms and build resilience in the face of systemic challenges. Their long-term vision includes working with clients across all age groups, but they feel particularly well-suited to support youth between the ages of 8 and 17.
Finnigan’s involvement on campus further reflects their passion for service and community. They serve on the board of Temple’s DREAM Program as Outreach Coordinator and also contribute as the Social Media Coordinator for the Social Work Honor Society. These roles keep them grounded and connected to their peers, while also giving them the opportunity to create inclusive spaces for others.
This $1,000 scholarship will provide meaningful support as Finnigan balances their academic responsibilities with the financial demands of housing, education, and their practicum placement. In their own words: “This scholarship means the world to me since it means I can continue to focus on my education and learning how to help others achieve their full potential.”
Finnigan’s journey embodies the spirit of the 25 Days of Scholarships – using education as a tool for advocacy, empowerment, and meaningful community impact.
About the 25 Days of Scholarships
Launched in 2025, the 25 Days of Scholarships is a nationwide initiative created by Pond Lehocky Giordano to provide financial support and public recognition to 25 students across the country. Each scholarship recipient is awarded $1,000 to help reduce financial barriers in their pursuit of higher education.
The program is open to students enrolled in two-year colleges, four-year universities, trade schools, and other accredited educational programs. Our goal is to spotlight students who not only excel academically, but who also demonstrate a deep commitment to helping others.
Throughout the month of June, we will feature each scholarship recipient on our website and social media platforms to celebrate their achievements and amplify their stories. Every student selected embodies the values we fight for every day – empowerment, community, and service.
