Pond Lehocky Partner Sam Pond to discuss Torn Apart project and clients’ stories on Today in Philly Labor

On Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 1 p.m. Managing Partner Sam Pond will join the broadcast team of Today in PhillyLabor live in our office to discuss the firm’s Torn Apart project.

Last year, Pond Lehocky commissioned acclaimed artist/illustrator Ian Wright to create large-scale portraits of three clients using his innovative torn paper technique. Three clients who suffered serious workplace injuries were asked to participate: Barbara Daquilante, a food service worker; George “Moose” Beerley, a union operating engineer; and Francis Elliott, a parking attendant. Wright used the clients’ own case files — legal correspondence, government forms, medical records, test results – to create portraits that reflect how lives torn to pieces by a traumatic event can be put back together again.

Torn Apart highlights the real reason behind the work our attorneys do – helping clients put their lives back together. Workers’ compensation benefits help injured workers pay medical bills and recoup lost wages during recovery. Our clients’ rely on these benefits to get their lives back after devastating work injuries. The campaign has received regional and national recognition, winning 10 ADDY awards this year and being featured on NewsWorks and WHYY’s The Pulse.
