Pond Lehocky named to ‘Best Places to Work’ list for sixth time

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano has been named by The Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the 2019 Best Places to Work, marking the sixth time the firm has received the honor.

Making the list is a point of pride for Pond Lehocky because the distinction is based on employee surveys. Pond Lehocky has now won the honor three straight years. The firm was named to the list previously from 2012 through 2014.

Each year, The Philadelphia Business Journal awards companies that have displayed outstanding workplace culture based on employees’ feedback, submitted via an anonymous online survey. The surveys are conducted by Quantum Workplace. Quantum’s Organizational psychology and research methodology professionals developed the survey, updating it regularly to ensure employees provide the most relevant feedback possible. The categories rated include work environment, personal growth, professional development, talent and embracing change and new ideas.

The streak of making the list is particularly satisfying given the firm’s tremendous growth over the last several years. With the firm’s growth from just 22 people in 2010 to more than 250 in 2019, the firm’s partners and executives have been tasked with scaling the culture to emphasize the firm’s core mission—people helping people.

“Our people are our most important asset,” Chief Human Resources Office Heinz said. “It was always important for me to build a career in a company that I felt valued, respected and appreciated. It is my job to ensure that each and every employee feels the same.”

“Systems and technology will change, the way we do things will change, our policies may even change but our core goals are the same and through it all, one thing remains, HR is not an algorithm, it’s human,” Heinz said. “HR is about human talent, human capital, human needs and human lives and human is the bottom line.”
