Pond Lehocky’s Harchar named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Northeast PA Man of the Year

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano associate Kevin Harchar was named the inaugural Northeast Pennsylvania Man of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. The award is given to the candidate who raises the most money over a 10-week campaign to support the organization’s efforts to find cures and ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest organization supporting research and advocacy for blood cancer treatment. The money raised by the organization funds research to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma.

Together, the eight candidates for Northeast Man and Woman of the Year raised $56,525 over the last 10 weeks.

“It is truly an honor to be named the inaugural Northeast PA Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man of the Year and I look forward to being a part of the growth of this organization for years to come,” Harchar said.

Harchar is based in Pond Lehocky’s Scranton office. He has been practicing workers’ compensation law for the last 10 years. He is certified as a legal specialist in workers’ compensation law. He joined Pond Lehocky in 2013 after working for several years at a prominent Scranton firm. He was recently appointed to the Hearing Committee servicing the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

The honor underscores how Pond Lehocky’s attorneys and staff have made charitable efforts a priority. The firm recognizes that fighting for the hard-working members of our community is a privilege. With that privilege, comes a professional and moral duty to give back to the community.
