In celebrating World Health Day on Tuesday, Pond Lehocky’s managing partner Sam Pond thanked health care and other essential workers on the front lines as thousands of viewers watch the law firm’s Facebook Live Question & Answer Session. Pond hosted the live video to answer people’s legal questions about the pandemic in real time. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the law firm has been helping thousands of Americans with their employment and unemployment issues. This comes after more than 10 million U.S. citizens filed for unemployment due to the pandemic.
This morning’s Q&A can be viewed here. Pond Lehocky is hosting another Facebook Live Q&A with Sam Pond on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m.
“We’re very grateful and thankful for all the front line workers,” Pond said, kicking off the livestream. “Especially those in the medical field: they keep us safe; they keep us alive. Also, the transport workers who are delivering the food and getting people to hospitals. We represent a lot of these union workers, and we are fighting for more safety measures because they are exposed and scared.”
Questions poured in during the 35-minute livestream, which ranged from case specific to the impact COVID-19 is making on workers’ rights, employment law, workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, the Coronavirus Relief Bill, and other legal matters.
“We are getting about 1,000 calls a day,” Sam shared. “We are here to help; that is what we do.”
With many of our country’s most vulnerable workers on the front lines combating the COVID-19 pandemic, Pond Lehocky continues to advocate for workers on the front line, supporting their health and safety. For Pond Lehocky, it’s personal. Many of the firm’s attorneys and staff members come from union backgrounds. Sam Pond, who’s $3 million settlement stands among the highest ever awarded in PA workers’ compensation, is also the president of Union Services Access, a legal consulting services network for unions and their members.
