After donating and delivering meals to EMTs for National EMS Week, Pond Lehocky was featured on 6ABC News. Workers at JeffSTAT‘s new location in Philadelphia say it was the first and only meal donation they have received during the pandemic.
“All this in honor of National EMS Week,” the broadcast shared. “A fitting way to say thanks to those working so hard around the clock during this pandemic.”
The meal was provided in partnership with Paganos Restaurant in Philadelphia and comes after Pond Lehocky launches a range of volunteer efforts to help during the pandemic. By partnering with a Philadelphia restaurant, Pond Lehocky is also helping to support local business and refuel the local economy, which is important to the firm.
National EMS Week is the typically celebrated the third week of May by communities across the nation and honors the contributions of EMS practitioners who are trained to save lives and work around the clock. Since the pandemic outbreak, EMS1.com reports that 47 EMS workers have died from Covid-19-related issues, including two in Pennsylvania and 13 in New Jersey.
The lunch donations are a part of a larger pandemic initiative that Pond Lehocky kicked off at the beginning of the pandemic, donating and delivering $10,000 worth of meals to health care workers battling the coronavirus on the front lines and volunteering weekly at Share Food Program.
