Pond Lehocky associate Andrew Ruder published by ALM’s Pennsylvania Law Weekly

Pond Lehocky associate Andrew F. Ruder was published in ALM Media’s PA Law Weekly for his article, Workers’ Compensation in the New World of the COVID-19 Pandemic, which discussed how and when to report exposure to an employer.

“If you contract COVID-19 due to exposure at the workplace, it is imperative that you provide notice to your employer within 120 days of contracting the virus,” Ruder explained. “Similar to orthopedic work injuries, individuals suffering from work-related COVID-19 symptoms are entitled to wage loss benefits if they miss more than one week of work and medical coverage for treatment related to the virus.”

Ruder earned a B.S. degree from Towson University in 2007 and went on to receive his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law in Camden in May of 2012. Ruder interned with the Honorable Mitchell S. Goldberg in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and also with the Honorable Shelley Robins New in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. He joined Pond Lehocky in September 2012 to practice in the area of Workers’ Compensation.

Ruder is admitted to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Tech2Educate, a non-profit that raises money to provide new technology to charter schools in the Philadelphia area.
