Pond Lehocky managing partner Sam Pond hosted Facebook Live with Dr. Nirav Shah

Pond Lehocky’s managing partner Sam Pond hosted the firm’s tenth live Facebook Q&A with Dr. Nirav Shah, the Princeton Brain & Spine Medical Director and board-certified neurosurgeon. Viewers got to learn from Dr. Shah about the function of the brain and spine. Dr. Shah outlined the different ways work injuries can impair a person’s function, and how his practice is helping patients during the pandemic.

Pond is a founding partner of Pond Lehocky, a nationally recognized injury and disability law firm headquartered in Philadelphia. A former President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, he served for six years as treasurer of that organization’s Committee for a Better Tomorrow. He has previously served in leadership roles for numerous organizations, including chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and member of the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners.  

Dr. Shah graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Pennsylvania State University, where he completed an accelerated Bachelor of Science-Medical Doctorate program. After graduation with Alpha Omega Alpha medical society honors from Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Dr. Shah completed his internship and five-year residency at the University of Maryland in Baltimore under Dr. Howard Eisenberg. While at UMB, Dr. Shah received specialized clinical training in planning and managing gamma knife cases, and he completed an extensive six-month rotation in neurotrauma. Further, at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Spine Center, Dr. Shah completed a six-month apprenticeship in complex spine surgery. His continued education includes a focus on minimal access spinal technologies, neuronavigation and disc arthroplasty. 

Dr. Shah’s clinical research has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, and he has contributed textbook chapters and presented his research at society meetings. Text contributions include a chapter written for the medical textbook, Cerebral Vasospasm, published by Thieme Medical Publishers. Dr. Shah is also a recognized international expert on concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. He was recognized as a 2018 and 2019 “Top Doctor in Philadelphia” by Philadelphia Magazine.
