Pond Lehocky Designates Friday as Mental Health Day for Staff

In an effort to provide mental health relief to Americans who are feeling stressed and dealing with anxiety, confusion and fear, the nationally-recognized law firm Pond Lehocky Giordano LLP is closing early on Friday, June 5, and giving staff a mental health day.

In an email to staff on Thursday, which you can read here, founding partners Samuel Pond, Jerry Lehocky, and Thomas Giordano, Jr., expressed why it’s important for staff to take off two hours early on Friday.

“In addition to the obvious stress, anxiety, and uncertainty a global pandemic and working remotely can bring, we have all been profoundly affected by the events of our nation over the last few weeks.  Whether you realize it or not, the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Aubery and the massive, nationwide protests including those in our city, can significantly affect your mental state.   No one can be blamed for feeling overwhelmed, fearful, angry, alone or pessimistic during this time.  While we all know the importance of staying positive even during the darkest days but lately it has felt as if those days are longer and longer.”

While dealing with a pandemic, riots and protests, storms and power outages, Pond Lehocky is hosting a mental health day to help staff stay healthy and well. As a workers’ compensation firm that represents hard-working Americans, Pond Lehocky values the importance of mental health. This is one way the firm continues to prioritize the overall wellbeing of its staff.
