Pond Lehocky Donates 50% of its Client Closet Inventory to Families Forward Philadelphia

Pond Lehocky will donate more than 150 items of business professional clothing to Families Forward Philadelphia, the city’s largest not-for-profit emergency shelter for families and travellers since 1915 on Thursday, May 21 at 11:00 a.mThe clothing hails from Pond Lehocky’s Client Closeta “Rent The Runway”-style service that allows law firm clients to try on, select and keep professional outfits for their court appearances at no additional cost.

The Pond Lehocky Client Closet inventory, which hit capacity through donations from the firm’s staff, attorneys, partners, and vendors, has remained untouched and unused since the start of the stay-at-home orderPond Lehocky realized its service could benefit the marginalized community members that Families Forward Philadelphia serves, including those in the Philadelphia region currently experiencing homelessness.

We could definitely use clothes of that variety to assist our parents,” Families Forward Chief Development Officer Kathy Meck explained. “Many of our nonprofit partners who’ve provided those resources are no longer supporting our needs in the same way [during the pandemic].”

Pond Lehocky engrains the importance of community into its culture and employees all year long and is committed to supporting its clients and local businesses beyond the legal process. Pond Lehocky is a long-standing partner of Families Forward Philadelphia and for the past seven years has partnered with them to hold an annual holiday drive. Pond Lehocky continues to serve the community amid COVID-19 through meal deliveries and various volunteer initiatives with local nonprofit organizations.

“We were excited to launch the closet to provide a unique service for our clients before the pandemic,” Pond Lehocky’s Chief Marketing Officer Corinne Bolanos shared. “Now, it is fully stocked and not being handed out to any clients due to the stay-at-home orders. In this situation we did not hesitate to share our resources with our community partners to help those in need immediately.”
