Pond Lehocky Sponsors Van for Home at Last Dog Rescue

Firm News

Twice a week, a Pond Lehocky-branded van drives the roads around Blue Bell, PA, carrying a group of dogs from Home at Last Dog Rescue. Their lives have been marked by neglect, pain, and fear. Some sit quietly, while others tremble with anxiety. Many are sick and injured. For each of them, this ride is more than transportation—it’s their first step toward survival.

Home at Last Rescue is an animal rescue organization dedicated to removing dogs from dangerous conditions and finding them safe, loving homes. It operates as a foster-based rescue, meaning it does not rely on central shelter and instead depends on a network of fosters, volunteers, and coordinated logistics to function effectively.

Pond Lehocky founding partner Jerry Lehocky and his wife Lynn support a wide variety of animal welfare organizations, including Home at Last. When it became clear that the rescue needed a van to support its mission, the Lehockys stepped in. They donated the van itself, while Pond Lehocky agreed to cover yearly gas and tolls, transforming it from a one-time investment into a sustainable, ongoing lifeline for animals in need.

Before the van, Home at Last relied heavily on individual volunteers using their personal vehicles to transport dogs. Transporting multiple sick or injured dogs is not only challenging for volunteers but it is often unsafe for the animals and the volunteers. The addition of a transport van significantly simplifies the process, allowing volunteers to transport more dogs in less time, with less wear and tear on their own vehicles. The van usually makes two trips a week, carrying 30 dogs each time. Most of the dogs are rescued from breeders, while some come from other shelters. Once the dogs are picked up, the van brings them to a kennel, where they’re either transported to veterinarians or examined on-site for immediate medical treatment. Once they begin to recover, the dogs are placed into foster homes, where they can heal in a safe and caring environment. The final step in their journey is adoption, often through organized events where they meet the families who will give them their homes forever.

In 2025, the van transported 1,075 dogs out of dangerous and unhealthy conditions and into care. Every number represents a life that would not have been possible otherwise. These aren’t easy rescues. Many dogs require urgent medical attention. Some have never experienced proper care or human kindness. But with each trip, the van bridges the gap between suffering and safety.

If you’re interested in supporting Home at Last, you can donate or sign up to volunteer through their website. Whether through fostering, adopting, donating, or simply spreading awareness, every effort contributes to saving more lives.

Home at Last is just one of the many charitable organizations that Pond Lehocky supports. Every year, in the month of December, the firm chooses 25 deserving charities to each receive a $1,000 donation as part of its 25 Days of Giving initiative. It also sponsors a wide variety of local events and organizations. By giving back to local groups, the firm honors its core values and the commitment to community that it was founded on.
