At Pond Lehocky Giordano, we are proud to continue our 25 Days of Scholarships campaign by highlighting another extraordinary student whose resilience, vision, and voice deeply reflect the mission of this initiative. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate Albert Antonio Bailey III, an aspiring journalist from Windsor, Connecticut, who is currently studying Journalism at Howard University, Class of 2028.
Albert’s scholarship submission was powerful, authentic, and deeply moving. In his video, he reflected on the challenges he has faced navigating the world as both a person with disabilities and a Black man in America. These intersecting identities have too often led others to underestimate his potential. But Albert’s story is not one of limitation – it’s one of determination and purpose. He has not only rejected the stereotypes imposed on him, but has chosen to transform them into fuel for a future rooted in storytelling, self-expression, and advocacy.
Currently playing football at Howard University, Albert brings the same drive and discipline he shows on the field to his academic pursuits. He has a passion for sports journalism and dreams of one day interviewing players and coaches to uncover the stories behind the stats – stories of grit, growth, and resilience. Albert understands that journalism isn’t just about reporting facts; it’s about shaping narratives, preserving culture, and amplifying voices that are too often silenced.
As he powerfully stated in his submission: “Now is the time to continue writing our stories and preserving our legacy.” He goes on to elaborate that as the histories and contributions of Indigenous communities, LGBTQ individuals, women, and people of color become increasingly at risk of being erased or overlooked, great journalism becomes ever more essential.
This $1,000 scholarship will help support Albert in his journey as a student journalist, enabling him to continue using his talents to give voice to the stories that matter most.
Albert’s strength, purpose, and unwavering commitment to truth-telling embody everything we hoped to celebrate when we launched the 25 Days of Scholarships initiative. His story is a reminder of the power of education, the importance of visibility, and the role that storytelling plays in justice and representation.
About the 25 Days of Scholarships
Launched in 2025, the 25 Days of Scholarships is a nationwide initiative from Pond Lehocky Giordano designed to recognize and support hardworking students across the country. Over the course of 25 days, we are awarding $1,000 scholarships to 25 deserving recipients pursuing education through a two- or four-year college, trade school, or other accredited program.
We spotlight each recipient on our website and social media channels to celebrate their goals, passions, and impact. Our winners are students who exemplify resilience, drive, and a desire to serve their communities—values that are deeply rooted in our firm’s mission of advocacy and empowerment.
