Pond Lehocky associate named Vice-Chair of Philadelphia Bar Association’s Social Security Disability Committee

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano associate Nicholas Feden was recently appointed vice-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Social Security Disability Committee. Feden joins Pond Lehocky partner Thomas Giordano Jr. in a leadership role on the committee. Giordano currently serves as the committee’s co-chair. Feden’s term began June 1.

The Philadelphia Bar Association’s Social Security Disability Committee monitors current developments, legislation and regulations affecting the practice of Social Security disability law. The committee makes policy recommendations to the Bar Association’s board.

In the vice chair role, Feden will help organize programing to keep the committee at the forefront of Social Security disability litigation.

“We will our use meetings to maintain communication and relations between our members, the Social Security Administration and the federal bench to ensure that the vulnerable population we serve receives equitable treatment at all levels,” Feden said.

Feden joined Pond Lehocky in 2017. His practice is focused on handling complex disability claims that cannot be resolved at the administrative level and require an appeal to the Federal Courts. As co-chair of the firm’s disability appellate division, he has created processes and procedures for multi-jurisdictional federal practice covering 12 district courts in four circuits.

Feden also serves as a board member of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and is a founding member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Social Justice Law Project.
