Matthias Recktenwald

Matthias Recktenwald is Pond Lehocky’s Marketing Director, where he leads the firm’s marketing strategy across client acquisition, brand development, and campaign performance, with a focus on using data to guide decisions and support the firm’s growth.

Matthias joined Pond Lehocky in 2026 as a data analyst. Before that, he was Chief Scientific Officer at HydroPep Therapeutics, a university spin-off developing injectable peptide hydrogels for bone regeneration and cell therapies, where he led product development, built the early team, managed intellectual property, and pursued licensing and grant funding. Earlier, he worked at Cooper University Hospital, Johnson & Johnson, and Rex Medical, contributing to the design, development, and market introduction of medical devices.

Matthias holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Rowan University and a bachelor’s and master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University. He is pursuing an MBA at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. Originally from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, he now lives in South Philadelphia.
