Mary Hains is a workers’ compensation attorney who focuses her practice on representing injured workers and individuals throughout New Jersey.

Mary is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is committed to helping clients navigate the legal system with compassion, clear communication, and dedicated advocacy while pursuing the benefits and compensation they deserve. She believes every client deserves an attorney who listens carefully and stands beside them throughout every stage of their case.

Before joining Pond Lehocky, Mary practiced workers’ compensation and personal injury defense, representing employers and insurance carriers. Her experience on the defense side provides valuable insight into how claims are investigated, evaluated, negotiated, and litigated. She now uses that perspective to anticipate defense strategies and advocate effectively on behalf of injured workers and accident victims.

Before pursuing a legal career, Mary worked in the restaurant and retail industries. She has a firsthand appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and resilience that many occupations demand. These experiences continue to shape her approach to representing injured workers, whose injuries often affect not only their health, but also their ability to support themselves and their families.

During law school, she represented survivors of domestic violence, helping her clients obtain orders of protection during times of crisis. After earning her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, Mary served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Philip J. Degnan, where she gained firsthand insight into the judicial process while assisting with matters involving child custody, child support, and juvenile delinquency cases.

Mary lives in South Philadelphia, where she spends her free time doing pottery at a local studio, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the local food scene.
