Philadelphia (July 13, 2023) – The Center for Business Analytics at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business today announced that it has selected Pond Lehocky Giordano LLP as a 2023 Drexel LeBow Analytics 50 Award honoree. The Drexel LeBow Analytics 50 is a national recognition of analytics distinction honoring 50 organizations using analytics to solve business challenges.
Pond Lehocky Giordano was recognized for the proprietary process it developed to determine the benefits and legal claims the firm could potentially pursue on behalf of prospective clients based on the information they provided to the firm about their injuries, medical treatment, and medical history.
Many clients contact the firm knowing they might have one type of legal claim they can pursue, but to a trained lawyer’s or law firm professional’s eye, their medical records and background information might suggest others. The challenge for the firm was creating a process for assessing prospective clients’ information systematically so the firm could evaluate tens of thousands of prospective clients’ files to determine the legal claims they had.

The firm’s scalable solution came in the form of an algorithm it built that takes raw information from various parts of clients’ files and runs it against a known set of keywords that are frequently used in legal cases to flag critical pieces of information that suggest potential legal liability and damages related to mass tort cases, personal injury cases, Social Security Disability cases, workers’ compensation cases, and employment law cases. Once these terms were flagged, firm representatives alerted clients when there were additional legal claims the clients could pursue beyond the ones they contacted the firm about.
