Uncategorized

Pond Lehocky is proud to announce a new practice centered around California’s Lemon Law. The practice will operate out of our newly opened Costa Mesa office, and will be led by attorney Kaio Carter.

Carter joins Pond Lehocky from a leading national defense firm. There, he handled complex civil litigation in federal and state court and built a solid foundation in the skills that high-stakes cases demand, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Previous to that, he worked at Fortune 500 companies as a business analyst. This taught him to effectively evaluate complex operations and information.

He earned his law degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where he received the Dean’s Award in Gift and Estate Taxation and competed in moot court. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. Before joining Pond Lehocky, Carter practiced at a leading national defense firm, where he handled complex civil litigation in state and federal court. We are proud to have his work ethic and client service-oriented advocacy on our team.

The new office is located at 3200 Bristol Street, Suite 780 in Costa Mesa. The location provides access to Orange County and the greater Los Angeles region of Southern California. It will also be the site of our new California personal injury practice, led by attorney Gabe Spooner.

What Is California Lemon Law?

California’s Lemon Law aims to protect buyers of vehicles with serious defects that the manufacturer cannot fix after a reasonable number of attempts. It covers new vehicles that were purchased within the last six years, along with certified pre-owned vehicles that are covered under manufacturer’s warranty. It gives consumers the right to have their vehicle replaced or refunded, and have incidental costs (such as towing or rental car fees) reimbursed. It includes a wide variety of motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, and boats, and any factory-installed engine type, such as internal combustion (i.e. gasoline or diesel), hybrid, or fully electric motor systems. Generally, consumers who have brought their vehicle to a mechanic for the same issue twice should look into lemon law protections.

This new office and practice reflect Pond Lehocky’s commitment to providing high-quality legal representation, especially in regions that have historically been underserved. We are proud to serve a new client base in California!
