Despite the pandemic, thousands of Americans are finding ways to give back, including the partners of the law firm Pond Lehocky. As a joint effort with Share Food Program, Sam Pond, Jerry Lehocky, and Thomas J. Giordano will volunteer along with full-time staff members on Tuesday, May 5, starting at 1:30pm. They will aide in pandemic relief efforts, delivering needed supplies and meals to seniors as well as packaging lunches for needy families in the Philadelphia area.

As our community and country are faced with an unprecedented pandemic,” Pond said, “we are here to help in these most difficult times.”

Pond Lehocky launched the COVID-19 Hotline as a resource for these workers, which can be accessed by calling 267-606-4343. The hotline serves as a one-stop shop for front line workers to get help and possible benefits. For Pond Lehocky, giving back to the community is not just an option, it’s a duty.

“Giving back to the community is our social responsibility,” Pond Lehocky’s Chief Human Resources Officer Jennifer Heinz said. “It is rewarding and makes people feel good, but it is also just the right thing to do.”

Pond is a founding partner of Pond Lehocky, one of the largest workers’ compensation and disability law firm in Pennsylvania. A former President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, he served for six years as treasurer of that organization’s Committee for a Better Tomorrow. He is also the chairman of the Pennsylvania Alliance. He has previously served in leadership roles for numerous organizations, including chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and member of the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners.

Lehocky is a founding partner of Pond Lehocky. A 1985 graduate of Temple University School of Law, he has been a litigator of workers’ compensation and Social Security disability since being admitted to practice. Initially, he represented employers and insurance companies. However, since 1991, he has represented claimants exclusively. He is currently serving a three-year term as a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He is also a former president of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the first workers’ compensation attorney to hold that position.

Giordano has dedicated his career to assisting disabled Americans. He leads Pond Lehocky Disability, the firm’s nationwide Social Security and disability insurance arm. The department has represented tens of thousands of disabled individuals in all 50 states.

Giordano has also previously served on the board of directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania. A graduate of Rutgers University School of Law – Camden, Giordano currently serves as the chair of the Social Security Disability Committee of the American Association for Justice and as the co-chair of the Social Security Disability section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
