Pond Lehocky Associates Present at Women in Law & Leadership Summit

Pond Lehocky associates Kajal Alemo, Ruxandra M. Osgood, Erica Shikunov, and Danielle N. Webb spoke at the Women in Law & Leadership summit in Philadelphia, hosted by Centerforce USA, on March 14, 2018. The firm was a proud sponsor of the day-long event that explored career obstacles, risks and rewards for female attorneys.

The conference had over 25 leading experts and speakers and 150+ attendees comprised of women in the legal profession. Key topics for the presentations included: goal-oriented work-life and career management, pay equity and creating change, finding a mentor and developing a sponsor, and engaging and motivating men in prioritizing diversity.

Pond Lehocky associates moderated the interactive roundtable discussion, “Breaking into the Boys Club,” about growth in the workplace for female attorneys and potential obstacles that young women have to navigate once they have advanced.

“There are times when a client may be expecting a male attorney on the paperwork, or a female attorney is mistaken as a court reporter, or a staff member is less receptive to instructions or criticism than if it were to come from a male counterpart,” they explained. “Our goal for the roundtable discussion was to concentrate on the interplay of striving to be a leader that is both young and female, identifying any challenges, and exploring solutions so that setbacks and conflicts can be minimized and/or eliminated in the workplace.”

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano is one of the top three most diverse Philadelphia law firms, with over 40% of Pond Lehocky’s 39 associates being female, and has been recognized for attorney diversity in The Legal Intelligencer for three consecutive years.
