David F. Stern is a founding partner of Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano, which opened its doors in 2010. He has concentrated his practice on workers’ compensation litigation since graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and has been representing injured workers since 2004. Previously, Mr. Stern was a partner at one of the leading defense firms in Philadelphia where he represented insurers and employers in workers’ compensation actions.
Mr. Stern earned his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Delaware, where he was a Division One athlete. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
In 2011, Mr. Stern was appointed chair of the Eastern District Workers’ Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He is a member of the Membership Committee and Amicus Curiae Committee for the same organization.In 2013, Mr. Stern was appointed as a Board Member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association (PTLA). Mr. Stern was also selected to the Future Leaders Section of the PTLA.
He actively engages in pro bono endeavors for the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (Philly VIP) and was enrolled in the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania Pro Bono Roll of Honor in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. In September of 2011, Mr. Stern was selected as Philly VIP’s Volunteer of the Month.
Mr. Stern was named among the Top 100 Lawyers of 2018 in both Pennsylvania and Philadelphia by Super Lawyers®. He has also been selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list on multiple occasions and was named to the Best Lawyers® list from 2013 through 2019.
Mr. Stern has authored numerous published articles in the area of workers’ compensation law and is a frequent lecturer in the field.
