Ryan M. Scanlon earned his undergraduate degree in finance from Fairfield University and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2008. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Lackawanna Bar Association and a member of St. Joseph’s Center Young Professionals Committee. Mr. Scanlon works exclusively in our Scranton office serving workers’ compensation clients in the surrounding area.
Mr. Scanlon began his legal career as a legal intern for the Pennsylvania State Democratic Caucus in the office of Minority Leader Robert J. Mellow. He then worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Patricia Corbett and for a personal injury firm in Scranton. He went on to become an assistant district attorney in Lackawanna County where he gained invaluable experience in the courtroom. Prior to joining Pond Lehocky, Mr. Scanlon worked as an associate workers’ compensation attorney at a regional defense firm.
Mr. Scanlon believes in giving back his local community. For the previous three years he has volunteered as an attorney to West Scranton High School Mock Trial Program. He was also involved in the Elm Street Project and its Community Justice Program, which sought to reduce crime and ensure a clean safe environment in Scranton’s South Side neighborhood.
