The History of Pond Lehocky Giordano

Pond Lehocky Giordano opened its doors in July 2010, when five Pennsylvania workers’ compensation attorneys and a Social Security disability attorney came together with a single goal: to help injured and disabled people with fierce, client-first advocacy.

But our story actually begins over 30 years prior, when Sam Pond and Jerry Lehocky were legal adversaries in Pennsylvania’s workers’ compensation system. Over time, mutual respect, shared values, and a shared sense of mission brought them together.

Pennsylvania is a state grounded in coal mines, steel mills, textile factories, and heavy industry, and we learned early on the kinds of risks people take every day to provide for their families while working in these industries. We know what it means to show up when an injury or illness is threatening your livelihood. Over time, our work grew beyond Pennsylvania’s borders because injustice in the workplace doesn’t stop at state lines.

Sam, Jerry, and Tom Giordano came together with a singular vision: to create a law firm dedicated to protecting working people. Each founder had a personal connection to the struggles of laborers and the values of perseverance, fairness, and loyalty.

Sam grew up in a union household, Jerry in a steelworker family, and Tom brought the same conviction, shaped by a family legacy of service and a determination to ensure no worker’s voice would be lost. Together, they built more than a law firm – they built an institution defined by grit, integrity, and an unwavering fight for injured and disabled workers.

Today, Pond Lehocky Giordano is one of the largest workers’ comp and disability firms in the nation, helping injured and disabled people in every state.

We remain committed to the same values that formed the firm all those years ago: fierce advocacy and the belief that injured Americans should never have to face these types of fights alone.
